If you haven’t had the opportunity to review the rules list recently, please do so here. We have specifically clarified the 8 o’clock rule. If you ever have any questions or comments about anything in the rules list, please feel free to discuss with any of the Darkwind Officers, or respond to this post.
Inactivity
From time to time, we go through the Guild Roster and remove inactive players. If you are going to be gone for an extended period of time, please let us know. Typically, our kick threshold is anything over 30 days of inactivity. If you are inactive and want to retain your membership in the Guild, be aware that you will have to let an officer know that you are planning on coming back, otherwise you may be subject to removal due to inactivity.
I believe we will be cleaning house in a couple of weeks, we will post a notice on the forums and Facebook page a few days in advance, but I recommend logging on to all of your alts in the next week so that you will not have to worry about it, or check in with a Darkwind Officer if you will not be online for an extended period of time. It is also helpful for us to have all of your alts tagged in your “guild note”. If you are missing a tag, please let an Officer know.
Events
Get to know your guild mates and stay involved- keep checking the guild calendar for other upcoming guild events! If you have an idea for prizes, or want to see a specific event happen, please mention it to our Event lead, Priska, who is posting upcoming event info for the month of June here.
Raid Team
We are continuing to push our 25-man raid team, please remind your friends to sign up! We have had a great deal of success running these with less than 25 people, imagine what we can do with a full guild group that is ready to roll. A few raid team reminders:
- We require the addons EPGPLootMaster and Deadly Boss Mods.
- We require Mumble – be sure you are using version 1.2.3 or higher.
- Not a requirement, but we highly recommend the addon “GTFO”, which will notify you if you are “standing in the bad”.
- Be on time! We should be pulling trash when raid is scheduled to begin, so if you’re not 5 minutes early, you are late.
- If you signed up but can’t make it, or if you know you will be late, let a Raid Team Officer (Wußear, Megamus, Shadram, or Pagdwa) know, or another officer. If you can’t reach an officer, you can post on the Thread of Shame.
- Be prepared -enchanting, gemming, or reforging when raid is supposed to begin takes away from our raid time, so please take care of those things prior to raid.
If you ever have questions about raid, talk to Wußear, our raid leader. He comes with years of experience and is by far the best person to go to with raid-related ideas, suggestions, questions, etc. There is a wealth of information on the forums about raiding, which you can access here. Don’t forget to post your raiding availability if you haven’t done it yet! We want to get as many people in raid as possible, it’s part of the fun!
Challenge Modes
More information to come soon – see Pagdwa if you are interested in joining the Challenge Mode team, which is looking for a dedicated group to run weekly challenge modes. No repair bills involved, but a great opportunity to hone your skills. Need help working on your spec? Look for a class-specific guide here, talk with the lead for your class/spec, or ask in guild chat if you need some tips!
Guild PVP
Darkwind is currently looking into getting more involved with PVP! If you are interested in participating in daily battlegrounds, rated battlegrounds, or world PVP, please indicate your interest here! Our goal is to see our guildies step up to the plate- there will be room for a PVP officer in the future if we get enough participation and interest.
Finance Team
Finance Team needs your help farming ore! We are currently buying ghost iron ore from guildies for 60 gold / stack and trillium ore (black or white) for 200 gold / stack. Finance Team uses the ore to prospect and cut gems, craft enchants, and craft gear for our guild members. As an incentive, Finance Team will also give out bonuses to our dedicated farmers (1000 gold bonus every time you send us 60 stacks [includes ghost iron ore and trillium ore combined]). Finance Team benefits the guild by providing a source of income to all guildies through farming ore, and by ensuring that our raid team (and our up-and-coming members) are sufficiently geared. If you are interested in contributing ore, or are looking for other opportunities to get involved with Finance Team, please contact Megamus or Squirrely.
Donations
If you are interested in contributing to Darkwind, see Shadram or Derekil for the herbs and food ingredients that are in high demand. Your donations go towards providing food buffs and flasks to our raid team so they can continue to down the bosses and get the loots.
